Bridge Name: US-101 Lost Hills Interchange Improvement

Location: Calabasas, California

Description: The objective of the study was to develop conceptual interchange improvements at Lost Hills and US 101 that address the Existing and Projected safety, operational and traffic needs. The existing overcrossing is deficient with respect to the required minimum vertical clearances and also does not meet the geometric lane width requirements for existing and future traffic demands. The conceptual study evaluated the existing traffic and the future traffic demands and presented four alternatives (besides the “ do nothing”) that included a Transportation System Management Alternative, a Roundabout Alternative, and two other bridge widening and lengthening alternatives.

SCOPE: The City of Calabasas has hired Athalye Consulting Engineers (ACE) as the prime consultant for this project. ACE’s responsibilities on this project are to conduct Advance Planning Study and prepare PSR/PDS report, Type Selection Report, PEAR (Preliminary Environmental Analysis Report) and Storm Water Data Report on behalf of the City in compliance with the Caltrans requirements/specifications. ACE is also the bridge/structural engineering consultant for this project.

Cost: $5,500,000 to 7,600,000 by Alternative
