ATHALYE Consulting Engineers has performed the inspection of 84 bridges for the Arizona Department of Transportation. The objective of this project was to assist the Arizona Department of Transportation in routine bridge inspection, detailed bridge inspection, emergency bridge inspection, development of traffic control where required, design of bridge repair projects, management of bridge repair projects, post design services, and bridge loading rating. The first task order consisted of a total of 32 bridges, while the second task order consisted of 52 bridges. The first task order encompasses 16 bridges on I-10, 10 on I-19 and 6 on SR77. It includes 19 traffic interchanges (T1), 7 railroad overpasses and 6 river crossings. The bridges are located in and around Tucson. All the bridges are continuous span rolled steel multi-beam with RC deck. Number of spans varies from two to nine. Most of them have multi-column bents and a few of them had pier walls, as intermediate supports. All the bridges have stub abutments, except the one that has a full height abutment. The second task order consisted of 52 bridges located in various locations in the Phoenix area.
